WiseMin Blog: Get in the Water
May 04, 2025
Dear Wise Women,
You can watch every Instagram reel about swimming. You can binge YouTube tutorials. You can read articles, study stroke techniques, even buy the perfect swimsuit. But unless you actually get in the water, you’re not swimming.
That simple truth applies to almost every goal we set for ourselves—whether it’s investing in real estate, building financial security, starting a business, or simply becoming more confident. Knowledge is important. But action? That’s where transformation begins.
The Gym Tour Trap
In her book Relaxed: Walking with the One Who’s Not Worried About a Thing, Megan Fate Marshman shares a brilliant metaphor. She talks about someone who finally signs up for the gym (yay!), takes the tour, gets pumped about the possibilities, and walks away inspired. But then... they come back the next day and take the tour again. And the next day? Another tour. They never move beyond the entry-level excitement.
We’ve all been there. We sign up. We get the welcome packet. We feel empowered by possibility. But if we don’t go deeper—if we don’t actually learn, stretch, struggle, grow—we stay stuck in that shallow water. And soon, the excitement fades. We give up. Not because we’re incapable, but because we never got to the part where the real change happens.
Start Where You Are, But Don’t Stay There
This is exactly why getting in the water matters. It’s not about waiting until you feel “ready.” It’s about starting—messy, unsure, maybe even scared—and then showing up consistently. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be willing.
And that’s where community makes all the difference.
At Wise, We Swim Together
At the Wise Network, we believe in helping women not just set goals—but reach them. We don’t just hand you a welcome packet or a highlight reel. We walk with you into the deep end. We equip you with tools, connections, and support that move you beyond information and into transformation.
Whether you’re investing in commercial real estate for the first time or looking to scale your portfolio, Wise is designed to help you level up—not by watching from the sidelines, but by participating, learning, and doing alongside other ambitious women.
So, if you’re tired of watching from the edge, if you’re ready to move the needle on your goals, it’s time.
Get in the water.
Stay Wise,
